Buying
a Hamster
Before
buying a hamster you need to make sure you have all the nessacery
equipment setup ready at home. This will stop the hamster getting
stressed as little as possible. Then they can go straight into their
new home once you get there. Hamsters
can easily be acquired from a breeder, pet shop or even a rescue
centre. The best would be a breeder since you'll know that you're
getting a quality hamster and will have a wide choice of colours
and breeds. If a breeder cannot be found then a hamster from a shop
or rescue is just as good.
What
type of Hamster?
It's
important to choose a hamster that is suitable for you. If you want
a hamster that is small, you want more than one and it can live
in groups with it's own kind then a Dwarf Hamster is what you're
looking for. If you're looking to buy just the one hamster then
the best choice is a syrian hamster since this type of hamster is
solitary and must be kept on their own. A Syrian hamster
is ideal for children or first time hamster owners because they're
larger than Dwarfs and much easier to handle.
